Meet the Author

Along with her five sisters, Angela, was raised in rural Isanti, Minnesota. She attended St. Francis Elementary until 4th grade and was then home- schooled until 8th grade. In 1992 she graduated from St. Francis High School.

Angela attended the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree and licensure in Elementary Education (grades K-6) as well as a Spanish major. While pregnant with her third child and teaching at a private Montessori school, she returned to school, attending the College of Saint Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota, and obtained her Master’s Degree. There she also earned her Montessori teaching credential for Elementary I (1-3rd grades) and Elementary II (4-6th grade).

Angela is the founder of the Elementary I and II programs at The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School in Blaine, Minnesota. From 1998 to 2009 she taught children of all ages and skill levels, changing and enhancing a curriculum to meet the needs of each child. She also developed a Spanish curriculum using an inter-disciplinary approach to learning the Spanish language throughout the school day.

Previously, Angela was the Director of a week long Vacation Bible School program at the Church of Saint Paul in Ham Lake, Minnesota. She led a team consisting of 10 core members and 500 children. Angela also wrote a curriculum on the Eucharist and a curriculum on God the Father which was then implemented as part of the program.

Her skills were also utilized to lead the summer program at Kaleidoscope, a program for inner city children in Minneapolis. She wrote the curriculum which was then implemented over the course of four summers.

Currently, Angela lives with her husband and five children in Andover, Minnesota.
